Merry Maids Curling Sponsorship

The number one-ranked curling team in Canada - with their hopes set on the 2026 Winter Games in Italy - is sporting the Merry Maids logo on the uniforms, thanks to a group of Canadian owners who have partnered as the team's primary sponsor!

  • Ashley Wilson - Merry Maids of Guelph, Kitchener, Waterloo & Cambridge
  • Leslie Johnson, Alexandra and Austin Jones - Merry Maids of Milton, Hamilton, Mississauga, Burlington & Oakville
  • Paul McDermott - Merry Maids of Surrey
  • Sandy Watson - Merry Maids of Halifax
  • Lynn McCaskill - Merry Maids of Barrie
  • Jackie Henrickson - Winnipeg & Regina
  • Andrew Douglas - Merry Maids Of Uxbridge, Newmarket & Markham
  • Bobbi Robinson – Merry Maids of Saskatoon.

Getting Started

Riley Sandham and Brendan Craig represent the Guelph Curling Club. They approached Merry Maids since they saw a connection between sweeping in curling and the cleaning services Merry Maids provides.

"They reached out to us, and we thought it was a great fit. They sweep, we clean floors – it's something you associate with similar movements,” said Ashley Wilson, owner of Merry Maids of Guelph, Kitchener, Waterloo & Cambridge.

The partnership also appealed to Merry Maids franchisees across Canada, and they joined the effort to support the Guelph Curling Club. As an added bonus, they compete in many of the cities where Merry Maids is operating.

For the sponsors, it’s even more than working with a sport that is associated with cleaning - it’s about community involvement and brand visibility.

“We’ve sponsored local kids’ sports teams, and we’ve worked to raise money for the Special Olympics, but this is bigger than any of those,” she said. “This is just one more way to get our name out there.”

Their curling matches are shown in a variety of ways – some are televised, some streamed, and some shown on Canadian networks.

“We’re really excited about it,” Ashley said. “They’re young, they’re up and coming, they’re cool – and they’re local.”

Team Spirit

The Canadian franchisees are rallying behind the team.

“All the sponsoring Merry Maids locations have purchased the Merry Maids Curling Club jackets to frame and hang in the office,” Ashley said.

Merry Maids owners have also been attending the curling events to cheer on their team as they compete across the country. Ashley and other owners took the opportunity to leave gift cards at the door for any attendees.

“We’re just taking advantage of a good situation,” Ashley said. “This is a great opportunity.”

Looking Ahead

With the 2026 Winter Games coming up, Merry Maids is excited to be part of the curling team’s journey. We wish them the best and hope they can make a clean sweep.
