Fred LaRue grew up in Newark, going to Jonny Clem, Roosevelt and Wilson Middle Schools and Newark High School. After a few years away, he and his new wife, Melayna, moved back to Newark and opened a Merry Maids serving all of Licking County in 1986. A handful of years and two children later, his parents, David and Judith LaRue open a Merry Maids in Dayton, OH. Those kids grew up surrounded by Merry Maids and knew how to clean before they got to first grade! We are still proud owners after 39 years in business and can now claim the title of grandparents too!

Some people are more than employees and become part of your chosen family, and Pam Wheeler, our manager with 35 years tenure, is one of those. She started as a cleaner and has become the voice and backbone of the company; she is the first impression of for customers and employees and indispensable to both.

Giving Back to the Community

Being part of the community is always a priority.  We have participated in home shows, given to various local events, including school raffles and a barber shop quartet.  For several years we have donated to the Historic Hudson Community Association, which raises money for scholarships for area high school graduates, community gardens, and an historic neighborhood beautification project, which includes a marker for the 1942 B25 bomber crash on Hudson Ave. to honor those who lost their lives in the incident.
